Across two consecutive weekends we took to the arena of Nike’s House of Innovation in Paris for a series of member events for Nike’s Own the Floor Dance campaign.

Briefed to support Nike in their mission to inspire and connect communities, we set out to bring the city’s dance scene in store, showcasing multiple facets of the sport. Ensuring those we collaborated with had authentic ties to the scene, all celebrations represented dance as a revolutionary tool for self-expression and the unique community dance has harnessed across the city of Paris.

On the 1st weekend, members were welcomed into the HOI area with a Nike By You DIY-gaiter working with multidisciplinary artist and dancer, Mathilde Schaub. Inspired by Mathilde’s innovative spin on styling, sculpture and textiles from her experience as a dancer. Ready to repurpose up cycled fabric into their gaiters, members also had the chance to customise their product further with a selection of bespoke 3D printed shapes and patches. A hand on and intimate session, Mathilde offered styling tips and creative support throughout.

Right at home in Nike’s House of Innovation, the 2nd weekend treated members to a day worth of panel talks and performances with some of Paris’ greatest dancing talent. Hosted by LÿdiE LAPēstE, the self-exploratory topics discussed throughout the day ran parallel to other activations open to members in the arena, such as tooth gems and nail art.
